Have to agree here, almost 2-1 on Liverpool with a push on the highly likely draw.

Liverpool have only won 6 of their 17 matches in the premiership away from home with a paltry 17 goals scored. Chelsea without a defeat at home all year. Even with Chelsea missing a few players I find it highly unlikely Liverpool grabs all 3 points. They just struggle to create anything away from home.

Liverpool were fortunate to get by Chelsea two years ago in this competition and they'll be hardpressed to repeat the feat. Chelsea is clearly superior imo.

This is not the EPL. Look at Liverpools CL form Vs Chelsea's. You are comparing apples with oranges.

Today's game it a tough call. Man U with a lot of injuries. I can see over, under, away win, home win, draw.

I have a lean on the over , Milan is playing very well right now, if they get to cautious Man U can bust them for a couple of goals and that would be it for the game, so I expect them to show up aggressive, 2-1 or even a 2-2 game, Man U can come, as previously seen, and put up any score agaist any team....

OK, thanks. I just hope that rotten bastard Ancelotti doesn't play his usual: "We are satisfied with 0-0 draw, and are in great position to please
our fans in Milano, and those abroad who follow this great squad"

Hope everything goes Man U's way, this time around, just like it did against Roma.

Good luck.

Apples with oranges? These are two premiership teams going at it, those records certainly give you an indicator of what to expect.

And I don't see anything different in both of their CL form. Chelsea is still undefeated at home with 4 victories and a draw. Liverpool have had decent success on the road but if you look closely its nothing spectacular. 3-2 defeat in Turkey, 1-0 over Bordeaux (a team not close to challenging for their domestic title), and 0-0 to PSV in their group games. Then a 2-1 victory over Barcelona in which both goals were gifted to them and a 3-0 defeat over a inferior PSV team (had lost a couple weeks prior to rivals Ajax at home 5-1!) who were struggling and missing their best defender Alex.

I've watched a ton of Liverpool's matches this year and they are toothless away from home. Sat through a 0-0 vs. Man City the other day in which the Reds created hardly a chance. Then a 2-0 midweek victory at home over Middlesbrough where only a long range Gerrard effort in the second half saved them (2nd goal was a gift penalty) from what was looking like another 0-0.

Rafa's a good technician and I expect Liverpool to try to get an away goal so I'm not putting it beyond them to score but Chelsea will open them up if they commit forward.

bit of a defensive formation for Utd. with Rooney as the only striker, no Smith.

----VDS----
O'Shea-Brown-Heinze-Evra
Fletch-Carrick-Scholes-Ronnie
----Rooney-Giggs---

It might be better for United. Evra in defence is a huge boost for United. The big reasons Man Utd outplayed Roma was through the movement of the forwards but more importantly the energy and pressure in midfield from Fletcher. He set the tone of the game by closing down and pressing everyone. Milans greatest strength is their narrow midfield who'll look to hog possession. But Fletcher has got plenty of energy, and this should harass their midfield whilst affording Scholes and Carrick some time to work their magic. On paper, it seems a great gameplan. Should it fail they'll always have Smith and Solskjaer to come on.

I'm really hoping it's a great game. As MA said, hopefully it won't be a defensive and cautious game.

I doubt Giggs and Ronaldo are on the same side!

UEFA has;

Oshea/Brown/Heinze/Evra
Fletcher/Carrick/Scholes
Ronaldo/Rooney/Giggs

Basically 4-5-1 with Ronaldo and Giggs pushing forward.

The listings for formation are often bullshit anyway. The key is the movement of Ronaldo, Rooney and Giggs. They'll be alternating wings, and we'll definitely see Giggs in the hole at times. He's been playing there for alot of the year, and is increasingly influential in that area. The point is that the players at his disposable will allow for defensive protection but also a very strong attacking impetus. It also depends on what midfielder (Fletcher/Carrick/Scholes) will be offering the most support going forward.

What's your pick?

I've got OVER 2 and Man Utd to win.

Staying away from the total but took Milan to score at 1.62 at Betfair and Milan to advance. Also a little on Kaka to score, they'll let him push forward even moreso tonight. Plus this Greek ref isn't afraid of pointing to the spot and Kaka should be taking them.
